What is the status with Brody Couch? Bcoz I remember during the MLC that American comms, particularly Aaman, saying that they need a sort of Ali Khan kind of pacer with 140s.
They highlighted Brody Couch, despite his inconsistencies and wayward lengths, is the only other bowler to provide such skillset. He could eye for a easier route for international cricket through the US and also he plays as a local in the MLC.
I love his bowling action. It’s like a more energetic version of Damien Fleming!
He’s just been playing for the Scorchers academy side for the top end.
Definitely he should play for America if selected. I’m pretty sure they allow you to do that and still be available for Australia if down the track he was to be picked for Australia as well. Given America is an associate.
What's the culture around pay TV in England? Is it affordable? Do many people have it? It seems CRAZY to me that only two hours in all of history has been shown on FTA in England, but perhaps FTA is different in England than it is here in Aus?
I am trying to work out my schedule with a) family commitments; b) coaching my daughters u/13 team; c) Ireland tour of Bangladesh (not yet finalised!!) ... do you think the Gabba will go beyond 3 days?
Nice! It has been 43 years since an Australian Ashes series went to the final test with the destination of the urn still up for grabs. Maybe this time will be different – if so, being at all five days of Sydney will be guaranteed to be historic!
I hope so. But I find it hard to predict. Sometimes in day/nighters it actually flattens out a bit there. I fancy Pakistan got 400 odd in the 4th innings and almost won one. Might rain a bit too!
I have locked in Day 3 for the Gabba. Probbaly do Day 3 or 4 at the G then all 5 days (if required) at the New Years Test. Will bring my Bob Woolmer & Graham Gooch Test caps with my Geoff Marsh & Dougie Walters Baggy Greens.

I think it is more popular than here.
And part of the problem is that cricket from Australia roughly goes from midnight until 7 am England time so not much appeal for broadcasters.
To be clear, until test cricket went behind a pay wall in 2005 the BBC and later channel 4 showed plenty of test cricket from England into England.
What are your plans for the Ashes Paul? Are you going to every city?
Hi Larry - haven’t made any plans actually, other than to watch it all on tv. If opportunities present then I’ll definitely go.
